Monitor xorg.conf COMPAQ ARMADA M700

nach der Installation von Suse und der Anpassung der xorg.conf ist die 'Ausgabe auf dem Monitor
vertikal verschoben' (wie im Bild)

Die xorg.conf habe ich angepasst da yast nur die Grafikkarte ausreichend konfiguriert hat.
Der Monitor musste selbst gewählt werden, LCD oder vesa oder ein Hersteller.
Ob bei den Herstellern der Monitore etwas passendes dabei gewesen wäre, weiß ich nicht.

Habe dann die xorg.conf von openSuse 10.2 mit einer xorg.conf von einem Knoppix-Start
verglichen und die Sections

Screen, Monitor und Mode

angepasst.
Müsste glaube ich alles soweit OK sein. Die Auflösung lauft nun mit 1200x768 wie mit XP
oder halt auch mit Knoppix und wird unter yast auch angezeit.
Vorher war das über yast einfach nicht hinzubekommen mit 1024x768 aus den Kategorien
LCD oder Vesa.
Das Programm SaX2 bietet das Verschieben der Position und Verändern der Größe an.
Die Button reagieren jedoch nicht auf die Maus. Abbrechen funktioniert.
Der Mauszeiger ist jedoch nun auch verschoben. Stimmt vielleicht etwas nicht mit den Einstellungen
der Maus in der xorg.conf?

Kann man eigentlich die Bildposition ohne dieses SaX2 Programm von yast verändern?

diese verschiebungen haben mit großer wahrscheinlichkeit nichts mit der konfiguration des xservers zu tun, sondern mit dem windowmanager.
lassen sich denn die icons nicht einfach nach oben und die zeile nach unten ziehen?

Habe das Problem gelöst. Habe als Sitzungsart FVWM ausgewählt, und nicht KDE. In FVWM war dann die Bildausgabe nicht mehr verschoben, also ganz normal. Beim nächsten Start von KDE war dort dann plötzlich auch alles in Ordnung, also das Bild nicht mehr verschoben. Kann mir überhaupt nicht erklären wie so das so funktioniert hat, aber Hauptsache es hat funktioniert.
Die xorg.conf war bei mir also vollkommen in Ordnung. Knoppix generiert also wunderbar eine brauchbare xorg.conf, die ich in meinem Fall wunderbar zum anpassen der xorg.conf für openSuse 10.2 benutzen konnte.
Unter yast wird nun folgendes angezeigt:

Monitor: (hier wird nichts angezeigt)
Eigenschaften:
Auflösung: 1024x768 (XGA)
Farben: 65536 [16 bit]

Hier nun noch zwei Links die sich mit dem Compaq Armada M700 beschäftigen bzw. Compaq Armada E500 (ein ähnliches Produkt von Compaq)

When you log into the computer, there is a section at the bottom about 1 inch tall where it cut the top of the screen off and placed it at the bottom of my LCD. So what does this mean? It means I have to move the mouse way up just to get to the bottom of the screen.

Treffender kann das Problem wohl nicht beschrieben werden.

Die Antwort dort:
I have the same problem with my armada m700. the only solution i can come up with is to start suse with the monitor shut.
(Was auch immer damit genau gemeint ist.)

They work with the SVGA driver, and, amazingly, they work when you start them with an external monitor connected and the output set to the monitor (Fn+F4), and then switch back to the TFT *after* X has started up. This is really strange. Actually, if you then leave X, the text console is messed up.
Upgrading to XFree 4.0 solves this problem.

(Hier wurde das Problem wohl so gelöst, dass man mit einem externen Monitor KDE gestartet hat.)
Außerdem gibt es unter diesem Link noch eine ganze Menge Tips für die Programmierung der Sondertasten etc. In wie weit die übertragbar auf das Modell Compaq Armada M700 sind weiß ich nicht, schließlich ist dort das Modell Compaq Armada E500 benutzt worden.
