OpenSuSE 10.3 alpha 2

Hab ein Problem
Hab Suse 10.3 Istalliert dort Spinnt der sax2 man kann nur 1600x1200 eintellen und nicht höher.
wenn man einen anderen monitor auswählen will stürzt sax2 sofort ab.

Habe den die Xorg.conf backup von der vorinstallation Open Suse 10.2 genomen mit 1920x1440 auflösung aber nur 59herz ich kann mit dem Monitor aber 85 herz.

Wie stelle ich das ein in der Modeline ?

den noch eine frage?
Mein Monitor kann 2048x1536 bei 83 Hz, Ich weiss es ist :crazy: aber ich will mit jedem monitor die höchst auflösung fahren.
wie berechne ich das als modeline?

(den F931 giebt es nicht in der sax2 einstellung, aber der F930 und ist bis auf den höhren stromverbrauch gleich, und die original Monitor Windoof inf datei kann sax nicht einlesen, weder per cd noch per Diskette beides gemountet)

poste doch mal die /var/log/Xorg.0.log um zu sehen, warum andere modi abgeleht werden.

Hmmmm
"width too large for virtual size"

vherz ist auch auf 30-130 und ich konnte in 10.2 2048x einstellen. oki nur 50her aber es ging
unter IBM OS/2 und win habe ich 2048x1536 MIT 85 herz.

Grummel und sax2 läuft jetzt gar nicht mehr.
Ich installier mal den ati treiber vileicht hilft es

der X-server verwaltet virtuelle bildschirme, dh der bildschirm kann größer sein, als der bereich, der auf deinem monitor dargestellt wird. das kann dann zb so aussehen, das der desktop eine größe von 1600x1200 hat obwohl der monitor nur 800x600 darstellen kann. dann siehst du auf deinem monitor nur einen ausschnitt des bildschirms und wenn du mit der maus an den bildschirmrand fährst, verschiebt sich dieser ausschnitt. oder eine andere variante ist, dass der virtuelle desktop auf mehrere monitore verteilt wird. in deiner xorg.conf hst du mit sax irgendeine feste größe des virtuellen bildschirms vorgegeben und willst eine auflösung starten die noch höher ist. dann kommt diese fehlermeldung. du hast die virtual-size auf 1600x1200 eingestellt

deine graphikkarte unterstützt die folgende auflösung

du hast aber irgendwo 2048x1530 eingegeben und da kommt die fehlermeldung

ausserdem reichen deine monitoreinstellungen nicht aus, denn zum videomodus #5 kommt folgende fehlermeldung

also die 130khz musst du etwas erhöhen (aber vorsichtig, probier mal 135). mit 130khz bekommst du 2048x1536 bei 85hz sowieso nie hin, das ist physikalisch unmöglich, denn 85hz*1536=130560hz und dann kommen ja noch die synchronsignale und die dunkeltastungen dazu! das wären isgesamt schätzungsweise 1536+200=1736 und damit 85hz*1736=147560hz, und bei 75hz sind das dann 75hz=1736=130200 also 131khz

wenn sax probleme macht, dann führ in doch mal von der konsole aus.
1. melde dich im x ab
2. wechsle mit <strg><alt><F1> auf die konsole
3. melde dich dort als root an
4. wechsle in den multiuser-textmodus (runlevel3, X wird gestoppt) mit
init 3
5. starte sax
sax2
und konfigurier dein x neu.

danach kannst du das X system wieder starten(runlevel 5), gib
init 5
ein
