Guten Abend,
Also mein Problem ist folgendes:
Hab heut meinen Rechner (openSUSE10.3) an Breitbandinternet gehängt (hab zu Hause nur analog) und erstma Runtergeladen was das Zeug hält. Hab mir n paar schöne Programme runtergeladen und so weiter. Unter anderem habe ich ein Kernel Update durchgeführt und Graka-Treiber (NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400GS) aktualisiert sowie 3D Support... Hab dann n bisschen XGL, CompizFusion und so eingerichtet. Alles wunderbar läuft stabil...
Mach ich die Kiste aus, fahr nach Hause, will hochfahren, bleibt die Sau beim GRUB loading hängen und will partout nich weitermachen. Keine graphische Oberfläche, nix! Bin dann schließlich um GRUB drumrum gekommen und konnte das System laden, bis INIT 5 alles i.o. Und dann bleibt der im Textmodus hängen und startet kein grafiksystem fehlermeldung beim manuellen starten von Xorg!!! hexhex
Hab dann versucht in der /etc/X11/xorg.conf unter Device den Treiber von NVIDIA auf nv zurückzustellen und hab unter Yast als X-SERVER wieder Xorg eingestellt. Hat nix geholfen. Mir liegt viel daran das das wieder läuft, also wer ne idee hat: Bitte helft mir!!!

Soweit ich mich errinnern kann ging es um drei NVIDIA errors [EE] und irgendetwas mit <no displays/screens available> oder so...werd die komplette Fehlermeldung heute Nacmittag mal posten.

Ok: neuer Sachverhalt kann nach besagten änderungen plötzlich doch wieder grafiksystem starten, allerdings mit unmöglicher auflösund (4cm große symbole u.ä.) Würde also gerne wieder vorherige einstellungen haben, bezüglich Xgl und dem NVIDIA Treiber. Das verhindert dann allerdings wieder das starten des Garfiksystems ein Teufelskreis
Außerdem ist ein neues unerwartetes Problem aufgetaucht: kann meine WinXP-Partitionen (NTFS) nicht mehr mounten. d.h. weder mit hilfe von fstab noch manuell können sda3 und sda5 an die verzeichnisse /C: uns /D: gemountet werden. steck jetzt echt in der klemme und bitte um schnelle hilfe! Werde jetzt erstmal wieder Xgl und Treiber aktivieren um dann die Fehlermeldung posten zu können.

letzteren Vorschläge haben leider auch nichts gebracht:

habe übrigens schon erwähnt das sich x wieder starten lässt sobald in der xorg.conf in der section 'device' bei driver 'nv' eingetragen ist und als window-manager Xorg angegeben ist. Allerdings mit einschränkungen, sprich die auflösung kann nicht geändert werden...kein 3d support.
